Question by Space Oddity: Positive influence of Internet, TV, and Music (Media) on 12-16 year olds.?
I know everyone talks of the negative sides, but I’m writing a research paper for my English class about the topic, and I know everyone else is going to to the negative, so I know its harder, but can you give me some valid sources on the positive effects of Media on kids around that age? Cause I honestly don’t think its all that horrible for every kid. I personally had no issues really with media, growing up. Btw I’m 14.
I think it comes down to how a parent raises a child to think. I was never going to go kill someone cause I saw it in a video game, or become anorexic by seeing skinny people in magazines and stuff. If anything, it could have helped with me wanting to be more healthy so I can look the best I can. But I dont know why people get stupid and try to diet like crazy and be anorexic/bulemic to lose weight.
And Music influences me for the better, it always puts me in a good mood, even if the lyrics sometimes say things I dont really believe in, I just like the song cause it makes me dance or something. So yeah. But I cant write that cause its my opinion. It has to be from like people with degrees and valid sources and cheese. So thanks if you can help me out! Please provide links to such sites!
Once again, please dont post your opinions. I need valid websites (links to them, please) that have like experts or organizations who made a study. Not just your opinion, though I appreciate that, its not what I need for the paper. Please help me out, its hard to find valid sources, I really need help!

well, as for the internet, it makes researching more convienient, if its used for school!
on tv, well, there can be educational stuff, but also, it can bring a family together after a long day. tv is ok as long as its not watched ALL DAY.
and music is also good, i mean, who hates music?

I’ve just been given an ultimatum by my folks. I’ve just left school with a few GCSEs and I need to find a job fast. Can anyone give me any tips as to how I could possibly start working for a media/music business?
College/Sixth Form not an option.

Looks like you’re in the UK, Ireland area, right? Pick up a copy of the HotPress directory and start calling! That’ll be your best bet for Ireland. . .the UK must have something similar.
Regardless of where you are radio, is often the easiest way to get started in music and the most scalable. Just about everyone who makes it in the music industry starts out in radio.
