Q&A: Is there a simple way to transfer all your music from Windows Media Player to iTunes?

Question by The Madness Within: Is there a simple way to transfer all your music from Windows Media Player to iTunes?
I’m want to switch to iTunes, but all my music is with Windows Media Player. I would just import the music but all my music is separated in a lot of different folders and it would be a real pain to import them all one by one. Is there an easier way?

Currently, iTunes can use MP3, AIFF, WAV, MPEG-4, AAC and Apple Lossless formats, so if you’re music is not in any of those formats you must convert it all first.

Once you have it all converted and have iTunes installed, in iTunes find “File>Add Folder To Library” and select that. Find the folder that contains all you’re music (i know it’s spread out, but even if you put it all just under “My Music” or “Music”, it can extract all the music from that, add it to your library, and be ready to play it!!

Q&A: Is there a free way to convert rhapsody music to itunes format?

Question by hot shot: Is there a free way to convert rhapsody music to itunes format?
ive been trying to find a software that will convert the wma files that are protected by drm to the format that will work with itunes, ipod, etc but every software i have found turns out to cost money such as tunebite, soundtaxi, danuisoft media converter and others so if you could either tell me how i can convert it myself or if you know of a software that will work to convert it that would be awesome thank you :)

Best answer:

Answer by Carina Smith
As I know , Rhapsody music has the DRM protection which avoid customer play or convert the downloaded music with other incompatible devices and if you don’t keep paying you can’t keep the music when the subscription expired .

So if you want to play the protected music with other incompatible players (like iTunes, iPod) and keep the music forever, you should remove the DRM with a specialized converter.

And here I found a good program to help me remove DRM and convert the DRM music. You can free download it to have a try.

http://www.drm-removal-tool.com/digital-music-converter.html

It can remove the DRM from protected music (mp3, wma,m4p, wav, etc) and extract audios from DRM video (wmv, m4v, asf, etc).

Q&A: What is the best free media player out there for Windows XP, or at least media converter?

Question by DoriSai: What is the best free media player out there for Windows XP, or at least media converter?
My computer’s a bit old, and I’m a bit peeved at the many media players I have to download just to play different media types. I want one that can pretty much play the majority of the media types out there (mp3, m4a, flv, divx, wav, midi, avi, flac, and many more) and also hopefully convert. If not, I’d like a decent converter for at least my music since I’d like to transfer to other devices, many of which will only play certain types of files. I just don’t want to have to deal with spending hours finding a plugin to play something, or downloading a whole new media player when I find out one of them doesn’t work… Thus far, my favorite player has been Windows Media Player, it’s standard and easy to use, but the last few times I went looking for plugins I had to pay for them T_T and I dunt wanna do that.

I know you prob won’t want to hear this, but I have found Itunes to be the absolute best with converting and storing my music. Alteast it will be all in the same format and easy to work with.

Simple, automatic conversion, home network sharing, video, audio, raido.

It doesn’t get much better.

Is there a free alternative to the sansa media converter?

Question by Ha-cha-cha: Is there a free alternative to the sansa media converter?
I am looking to convert .avi format videos to….erm…acceptable .avi format videos for the sansa fuze media player. all the .avi videos that i have are rejected by the player. I cannot download the converter at home because its too big, i cannot download it at school because the SMC requires the installation of stuff that a school computer will not allow. I would like to know of a video, picture, music (or just video) converter so that i can watch movies on my mp3 player, without the hassle of installing stuff or waiting days for a 100+ MB file to download. help.

is there a windows media player converter download so i can put music i have saved in there on my ipod touch?

Question by Andrea: is there a windows media player converter download so i can put music i have saved in there on my ipod touch?
i’m really new at this and cant figure it out. my itunes manager/acct wont sync with my windows media player.. and my windows media player will not sync with my ipod touch..

Best answer:

Answer by Gant
It won’t sync because they are two different programs. itunes is designed for mac and windows is well… designed for windows.

the files will transfer over. They are most likely all .mpg’s anyways.

Just do these steps:
1. open itunes
2. click file (upper left corner)
3. “add file” or “add folder to library”
4. find the file/folder location of the file/folder you want to add to itunes.
5. select that file/folder
itunes will import it.
you now have you music in itunes.

If you need anymore help my email is on my profile page.

Music media files into sheet music is there software that can?

Question by Okie_Boy: Music media files into sheet music is there software that can?
Is there a software or something that can turn your music media files mp3/wma into sheet music? If so what is it called and where can you get it? How much does it cost

Best answer:

Answer by mamianka
At this time, there is not software than can reliably do this. You can convert MIDI files easily to notation – but not mp3, wma, etc. There a pitch-to MIDI converters that will allow you to play or sing an acoustic instrument into a mike – but they only capture discrete, separate tone, as referenced with a metronome – you sing or play dah dah dah. Only monophonic, too. Easier to play them in with a keyboard.

There are people who are going to tell you that THEY have for sale something *magic* that will do what you ask. Nope. They also say they can take the vocals out of a CD, rendering it a karaoke. Nope. What you are left with is a hopeless, incoherent mess.

If and when this is finally a reality, I will be one of the first to jump on it – it will save me hours. Meanwhile – good old eartraining skills at work.

Q&A: Is there an easier way to get music media information for songs in iTunes?

Question by all_american_reject1990: Is there an easier way to get music media information for songs in iTunes?
I don’t really have that much time lately to find and enter all the info for songs and stuff in iTunes, and iTunes doesn’t do this for me, but is there an easier way to get the media info. And getting it in Windows Media Player doesn’t work either.
I download with limewire, and WMP doesn’t usually work to well for that at least for me it doesn’t.
