audio converter – can someone give some simple advise how to convert music files to .mp3 please?

Question by suzanne: audio converter – can someone give some simple advise how to convert music files to .mp3 please?
I have no knowledge in this area but it has been suggested I could copy music onto my minidisc player. I am currently running windows 7 and the windows media player that came loaded. I understand these files need to have .mp3 extension. I have seen free downloads pertaining to these but would like to know what route to take. Some of the music was copied off Limewire but mainly it is CD’s.

Can I keep ipod and windows media music files on the same computer?

Question by Angie T: Can I keep ipod and windows media music files on the same computer?
I received a Sansa player as a gift. My husband and teenager have ipods and already have their music files on our computer. I had heard that ipods and windows media-based mp3s such as the Sansa don’t co-exist on a computer very well. Is this true? I am debating taking back the Sansa and getting a nano if this is the case.

No, you can keep them together, just don’t try to sync files with Wndows Media Player, use your given software to sync files with player.

Music media files into sheet music is there software that can?

Question by Okie_Boy: Music media files into sheet music is there software that can?
Is there a software or something that can turn your music media files mp3/wma into sheet music? If so what is it called and where can you get it? How much does it cost

At this time, there is not software than can reliably do this. You can convert MIDI files easily to notation – but not mp3, wma, etc. There a pitch-to MIDI converters that will allow you to play or sing an acoustic instrument into a mike – but they only capture discrete, separate tone, as referenced with a metronome – you sing or play dah dah dah. Only monophonic, too. Easier to play them in with a keyboard.

There are people who are going to tell you that THEY have for sale something *magic* that will do what you ask. Nope. They also say they can take the vocals out of a CD, rendering it a karaoke. Nope. What you are left with is a hopeless, incoherent mess.

If and when this is finally a reality, I will be one of the first to jump on it – it will save me hours. Meanwhile – good old eartraining skills at work.
