Q&A: How do you transfer a Windows Media music file into one that will play on iTunes?

Question by guineagal7: How do you transfer a Windows Media music file into one that will play on iTunes?
I’m trying to take a bunch of old Windows Media Player music files and put them into my iTunes library…but when I right click and select “Play With: iTunes” it won’t play at all…help?

you need to convert them. open itunes, then go file>add folder to library. select the folder you want to add, then it will say something like ‘detected WMA format, convert?’ select convert, and they will convert unless they are protected files, which itunes cant convert.
the other alternitive is to rip them onto you pc again from the original disk with itunes

    You need to convert the files. If they are wma, then convert them into mp3′s.
