Anyone know of a media converter (like Format Factory) for Mac?
Question by Aaron: Anyone know of a media converter (like Format Factory) for Mac?
I used to use Format Factory on my Windows computer, but I’ve recently upgraded to a Mac. Anyone know of a free multifunctional media converter (images, videos, and music)?
There’s a reason I used the word “upgrade”… I’ve been stuck with a Windows PC my whole life, but finally managed to save up enough to get a MacBook Pro. Best decision I’ve ever made.

I don’t know of any all-in-one, but MPEG Streamclip might come close. It’s free. Install that, the WMV components for Quicktime, and the Perian codec pack, and you should be good on video. Basic audio formats should work as well. Not too sure about images, but you can do that in Preview, for crying out loud.
Handbrake is a better video converter, but it’s definitely not designed with standalone audio in mind. iTunes can do basic audio conversion.
All of the above don’t cost a penny.
And ignore DrDave and his laughably false drivel. Come on man, most incompatible? Come on Mr. Uber Experience, never heard of Haiku? Plan 9? Hell, even other BSD Unix variants like FreeBSD are going to have less software. Were your parents killed by a Mac or something?

It sounds like a problem with your computer’s sound card. First check the setting in iTunes to make sure nothing is set wrong. Then if that doesn’t work, search for updates to your sound card online.

How do I take my music in my media player to an e-mail folder?
Question by Colleen M: How do I take my music in my media player to an e-mail folder?
I have windows vista would like to send music in media player to family, Been told youtube, but still can’t figure it out.

Answer by Joshua T
I’m not sure what you are trying to say, but I’ll try answer your question.
The typical music format is MP3, and you can’t just upload MP3 files to Youtube. There are other formats but MP3 is the most common. Youtube is a video website, and videos is what you can upload. MP3 files are music-only. You can’t really “send music in media player” to anyone. You can send the MP3 music files (or whatever format your music happens to be in) to your family, but you can’t “send it in media player”. As long as they have a media player installed on their computer, they should be able to play your music. There is a default Windows Media Player that comes with Windows, so having a media player shouldn’t be a problem. Just send them the music file and you should be good to go.
How you send it depends on how much music you want to send. If you just wanna send one piece of music, you might be able to get away with sending it as an email attachment. But if you are mass-sending music, you should use a file host. Popular (free) file hosts include Rapidshare, Sendspace, and others. How it works is that you upload your music into the file host, and then they give you a download link. Just give your family the download link and when they click on the link, they will go to a website where they can download your uploaded files. Generally file hosts give one download link per file, so you should compress your music into one file before you upload it.
Hope this helped.

Q&A: How do I get all my music fiIes in Windows media Player and then share them with other PCs in my home?
Question by Sugar: How do I get all my music fiIes in Windows media Player and then share them with other PCs in my home?
I need a step by step simple answer, If there is one. I have Limewire (for downloading music and such), a “iTunes” music file, a “my music” folder & Windows Media Player that all have music downloads (library) or files in them. I want to get all the libraries/music put into my “Windows Media player” so I can store and play them all from one place. Also, I would like to be able to share all this music with the other 2 (wireless)computers in my house as well if possible. Is it possible to move all the music and have all my future media/music/downloads go to,”Windows Media player”? I realize a simple answer may not be easy, but please try.
Best answer:
Answer by No Name
open window media player(latest version or upgrade to it)
press “F1″ key
hit index tab
type in “sharing”
double click and read all the topics under “sharing”
i’m not being sarcastic, it’s just very well described in the help

How do you copy windows media music to a 512 MB memory card from SanDisk?
Question by Toni H: How do you copy windows media music to a 512 MB memory card from SanDisk?
I have the adaptor but can’t figure out how to copy music to it. I can’t drag to it. When I tell the Window media to copy to my E drive where the card is I get in error. Please help
Best answer:
Answer by Toni H
Hi there, firstly make sure that you are just copying files which are in no way copyrited.
Second the just open windows explorer.
Search for the directory which contains the files with the correct extensions .wav or whatever the type is, then right click and use the copy function to get them onto the directory which contains the SanDisk media.
It should then transfer a copy of the music file to the SanDisk ready to use in the player. Experiment with just transferring one fikle, before you try to copy a group of them, as your machine may have limitations on the size that it can handle. Failing that got to the microsoft online help site and I’m sure you will find plenty of people who have been through the same experience. Good luck.
